Award-winning Dealer Software Exported to Kuwait

WorkshopPro Workshop Control and Vehicle Health Check (VHC) Software, from the Newbury-based leading motor dealer software and web site developers, offers a multitude of interactive systems which have been implemented alongside the dealer’s existing Kerridge software. Behbehani Motors Co  has implemented the WorkshopPro T-Card and Technician Clocking elements of the WorkshopPro Workshop package as well as VHC.

Progress DMS was approached after Behbehani Motors’ aftersales manager George Andrews joined the company having experienced the benefits of WorkshopPro with his former employer John Clark Group.

Says George: “The system has only been up and running for a few weeks and we are already seeing improvements in productivity and efficiency. My experience with the system in my previous role at the Volkswagen franchise in Aberdeen showed WorkshopPro to be an invaluable tool for a smooth running aftersales department which excels in customer care and delivers in terms of profitability. I am confident we will see the same result here in Kuwait in a short space of time.”

Progress director Ritchie Kelk and his team undertook a complete reconfiguration of Behbehani’s dealer management system (DMS) to ensure it was working at its optimum prior to installing WorkshopPro . The three-month project was completed at the beginning of September.

Comments Ritchie: “It became apparent that Behbehani’s DMS was not functioning as it should so the entire system was overhauled. We then integrated WorkshopPro into the dealership’s aftersales system and provided training for staff. Implementing WorkshopPro in Kuwait did produce its own quirks – as well as cultural differences, we had to reconfigure WorkshopPro to work in Kuwaiti dinar, but other than that it has been a relatively simple process and the company is already reaping the benefits.”

Progress DMS is currently working towards implementing WorkshopPro into other dealerships in the Middle East, where Behbehani has become a re-seller which has already resulted in additional enquiries from the region, as well as Canada and Australasia.

The virtual T-Card system mimics the traditional T-Card board still found in workshops but being web-based it means anyone can have access enabling up-to-the-minute information of any vehicle in the workshop for all staff. The system also offers SMS communication between the dealership and the customer reducing time and revenue invested in phone calls as well as providing a record of the customer’s instructions. The system literally tracks a vehicle through the workshop and provides follow-up alerts improving efficiency and profitability. Technician Clocking accurately calculates hours for payroll and bonus figures as well as providing precise productivity information by job, technician and group.

VHC has been developed to enable aftersales staff to up-sell more readily, either on the day a vehicle is in the workshop or it triggers an alert for work due in the future. The web-based package helps technicians identify additional work required on a vehicle providing service advisors with information at their fingertips to up-sell more easily.
