Programming
The software can be programmed to respond to different tasks in different ways, for example:
- Invoices can be configured to only print on a certain type of paper (multi-use printers) and in colour, while job cards only print on low quality paper in black and white
- The same printer can be used in a multi franchise location, and will automatically determine which logo and address to use
Digital Outputs
The facility to program can be extended to the incorporation of digital outputs such as XML, SQL, Web Services, PDF, Excel etc. An example of this may be when printing a customer invoice:
- Detect delership and automatically add correct logo and address
- Create high quality colour version for customer
- Create low quality version for internal use
- Detect whether customer has email address, and email a pdf copy to customer
- FTP XML version of invoice for storage on dealer's intranet
